Dear HPAD members,
My name is Stone Peterson, I am one of the staff organizers with Historians for Peace and Democracy. I am a 2nd year PhD student historian at Arizona State University. My colleagues and I would not be able to maintain the work that we do without your support!
We have had a very productive year, from passing our resolution In Defense of the Right to Learn at the January 2024 Annual Meeting of the AHA in San Francisco, to organizing our largest-ever online teach-in, MAGA and Project 2025: Historical Precedents and Present Dangers, and putting in all the work that has gone into our Resolution to Oppose Scholasticide in Gaza that will be debated at the AHA’s upcoming January 2025 Annual Meeting in New York.
We are well aware of the political threats facing peace and democracy, which will only increase in the coming year, and we need your support to keep up and expand our activities.
We need a significant number of you who have the capacity to do so to become sustainers at $10 or more a month. Regular monthly donations enable us to more easily plan and implement our program for peace and democracy at home and abroad.
If you are unable to contribute on a monthly basis a one-time donation of whatever you can afford is greatly appreciated!
We have plans in the works to produce more teach-ins, work to defend academic freedom at the K-12 and University levels, continue to oppose U.S. militarism and call for a ceasefire in Gaza, and foster more community solidarity among HPAD members and our local communities.
We hope you will join us in these efforts!
In gratitude,
Stone Peterson, H-PAD organizer with support from
Margaret Power and Van Gosse, H-PAD Co-Chairs
